Online shopping and fake websites
Fake shops are cheap to build and easy to advertise. They borrow real brands’ photos, offer prices that feel like luck, and disappear once enough people have paid.
Before you pay a store you haven’t used before, take two minutes: search its name with “scam” or “complaint”, check how it wants you to pay, and use a credit card if you can, since a card gives you the strongest way to dispute a charge.
